Conference Operators are behind the scenes and they can be reached by pressing *0 during the conference. This option is perfect for most virtual events. Some operator services available for with this option include:
Speakers' Room. Your host and any other speakers involved with your event can have a pre-conference in a specially-designated Speaker Room before the conference. Use the pre-conference to make sure the speaker knows their cues and to calm any last-minute jitters.
Operator Introduction. An operator can join you in your Speakers' Room and introduce your first speaker to your audience and make sure your Event gets off to a good start.
Premium Operator Support. With this premium-priced option, your guests are greeted by an operator when they dial in to the conference. The operators record the names of your attendees for your records. The Speakers' Room and Operator Introduction options described above are also available with Premium Operator Support option. Additionally, this option provides:
Continuous Operator Monitoring. The operator will attend your entire conference to help you quickly resolve any issues that might arise.
Operator-assisted Question & Answer. The operator will also administer a Q&A during your meeting. At the designated times, your guests can enter the question queue by pressing '7' on their touch tone phones. The operator will announce your guests in turn and prompt them to ask their question.
You should consult with MeetingBridge Event Support at (888) 723-1200 Option 4 for help in selecting this option.
There are three options for handling the audio at the start of your conference:
Audience Lines Closed. This is the most popular start option. With this option, guests who join your event before it starts will hear music. When the Host or Operator start the conference, music will cease and the audio portion of the meeting will start in Presentation Mode. In Presentation Mode (aka Lecture Mode), only the host and designated speakers will be heard. Guests can interact with the host and/or designated moderator(s) through the chat feature of the Web Conference.
Audience Lines Muted. This option is used for smaller events when the host wants to have a dialog with the audience. Guests who join an "Audience Lines Muted" event before it starts will hear music. At the start of the conference, the operator will mute the line of each guest, stop the music and introduce the first speaker. Guests will have the ability to mute/unmute their lines by pressing *6. With this option, the host gives up some control over the event's audio and is not recommended for large or potentially uncooperative audiences.
Audience Lines Open. This option is used for small, interactive audiences when an audio free-for-all might improve the exchange of ideas.
By default, the MeetingBridge Virtual Conference is configured with a 'USA' dial-in scheme. This works best when the audience is located primarily in North America. A toll-free number is provided for North American attendees. An international toll number is provided for attendees outside of North America.
MeetingBridge offers a toll-free number for callers from the United Kingdom.
A Universal International Freephone (UIF) number is available when (1) the audience is more broadly international and it is (2) it is essential that the attendees have a toll-free number. Dial-in rates vary widely depending upon the caller's origin. See MeetingBridge International Dial-in Rate Schedule for rates.
By default a 'Speaker Room' is created for your venue so your host and speakers can meet with an operator to start the event. You can disable this feature if you have only one speaker and do not intend to have an operator start the event.
Disables the web conference feature for this venue. Used to conduct 'audio only' teleconferences.
What is happening behind the scenes?
The web conference resource for your venue is provisioned instantly. There is a delay between when you add a venue and when the teleconference resource is available for use. This delay is usually an hour or less.
